He is Risen Indeed
Recently, I’ve been excited about the launch of the Artemis II spaceship. Discovering more of God’s universe through space exploration is incredible. Sadly, for many people, fear is a driving motivation behind it. They feel like we’re alone in an uncaring universe and that we’re doomed unless we can escape Earth. To them, humanity’s best hope is living in a cold, airless desert on Mars.
This highlights the hope we have as Christians. We aren’t inclined to flee the Earth. We don’t feel alone in the universe, and we aren’t afraid of being wiped out. Why? Because we believe in the resurrection.
Jesus’s resurrection changes everything. It shows that we aren’t alone, that we don’t have to save ourselves, and that we don’t need to fear death because it has already been defeated. With God’s help, we can become who we’re meant to be, and our lives have real meaning. We declare this on Easter Sunday by proclaiming, “Christ is risen!” (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)
For believers, this is a victory cry. But for others, it’s a stumbling block. People struggle to believe that God can raise the dead, whether they doubt His power or His existence. To them, the message of the cross is foolish (1 Corinthians 1:18). But it isn’t foolish. There is strong historical evidence for Jesus’s resurrection, and no reason to doubt that the God who created the universe can also raise the dead (1 Corinthians 15:12-16). Rejecting the resurrection is a choice to believe it is impossible, and to live without hope or meaning (1 Corinthians 15:17-19).
So this Easter, choose the truth instead. We can face death, darkness, and despair without fear. We can grow into who we’re meant to be and live lives of real purpose.
Because He is risen indeed!
